search of the lost memory

search of the lost memory
For over a hundred years, my family has lived in the same area.
Despite the turning points in Soviet and Russian history, I live near where my great-great-grandfather lived before the 1917 revolution. His home has been gone for a long time; epochs and generations have changed. I knew almost nothing about him, and now I am filling in the blanks.
I project the photographs saved in my family album onto modern views of the places where my great-great-grandfather lived. I do not follow the path of then and now, I am not looking for precise angles for combining shots. My goal is the layering of time.
Through photographs, I restore the broken link with the roots. This is an appeal to the origins, to the history of a particular family - the return of lost memory.
